PC-10 oils have their work cut out for them for '07;
will extra filters help?


In this issue of ACERT Alert, we're reprinting an article by Jim Park that was published in the November 2005 highwaySTAR. This article covers the critical issue of oil for truck engines with emissions technology to meet the 2007 EPA regulations.

"We're headed for another change in engine oil formulation in 2007. With the exception of Caterpillar's ACERT engines, all '07 diesels will run at a higher EGR rate than current engines do…
…That means that soot is going to be more of an issue in 2007 than today."
