Dedicates Full Complement of Products, Services, Personnel to Serve RV
Market With a complete and comprehensive line of engines for all Class A and B diesel motor homes, as well as extensive service offerings and resources for owners of recreational vehicles, Caterpillar is in the recreational vehicle market for the long haul. The RV engine market is critical for Caterpillar, according to Suzie Adcock, senior RV OEM account manager, Caterpillar® On-Highway Engines. "We're the leader in this marketin fact, last year, Cat® engines recorded 52 percent of RV industry sales according to RVIA statistics," she said. "Recreational vehicles are extremely important to our engine business, which is one-third of Caterpillar's total annual revenue. Our commitment to this market includes not only a complete line of engines, but also a dedicated team and broad complement of services and resources for owners of RVs powered by Cat." The current Caterpillar RV engine linewhich is available in most of the major RV chassisincludes four models that provide a full range of ratings. The Cat C7 is available with ratings ranging from 300 to 350 horsepower and 860 lb.-ft. of torque; C9 ratings include 350 to 400 horsepower and 1,100 lb.-ft. of torque; the Cat C13 delivers the industry's best horsepower-to-weight ratio with 525 horsepower and 1,650 lb.-ft. of torque; and the C15 provides 600 to 625 horsepower with 1,850 to 2,050 lb.-ft. of torque. All of these engines feature ACERT Technology, Caterpillar's proprietary, breakthrough systems solution for emissions reduction. Caterpillar also provides abundant resources for owners of RVs powered by Cat engines. A team of Caterpillar managers leads all sales, marketing and quality initiatives for the RV market. The Cat dealer networkmany of whom provide RV-specific services through their status as Cat RV Centersprovides full coverage across North America. A dedicated RV call center (1-877-777-3126) is available to answer questions and direct customers to a service location. 2007 emissions standards while maintaining superior performance and fuel
economy. Several enhancementsincluding advanced combustion and a
diesel particulate filter with active regenerationwill allow Caterpillar
